Adam, Maciek and Aga are finally back together! Before getting to this week’s interview, they discuss last week’s international summits and President Joe Biden’s visit to Poland, all against the backdrop of the ongoing Russian war against Ukraine.
Aga and Maciek then sit down with Dr Clara Portela – a Political Science lecturer at the Law School of the University of Valencia and an expert on multilateral sanctions, arms control and EU foreign policy. Focusing on the topic of sanctions imposed against Russia following its invasion of Ukraine, they discuss common misunderstandings linked to the use of sanctions as a foreign policy tool, different types of sanctions and how they tend to affect both their targets and their senders, as well as the current dynamic within the EU and how well both the Union and Russia are prepared for the consequences of the current and potential future sanctions.
